Culture and History

The Église du Breuil has a Bernardine floor plan with a flat-ended choir and ribbed vaults. Its small bell tower has twin windows and a stone spire.

The church of Le Breuil is one of the rural churches built in the second half of the 12th century and at the beginning of the 13th century in the vicinity of the great Cistercian abbeys of Burgundy and Franche-Comté.

More than 300 Neolithic flints, flakes or tools were collected at Pointe des Bruyères.

The present-day Château in Le Breuil was built in the 17th century and remains unfinished.
