Transport and Canal

Saint-Vallier is connected to the RCEA, the Route Centre-Europe Atlantique. The town is also served by the Galuzot TER railway station, which is located on the Montchanin–Moulins line and on TER Bourgogne line no. 13.

Culture and History

The Les Chavannes washhouse complex is located in Saint-Vallier and also extends into Montceau-les-Mines. A Polish cultural presence in Saint-Vallier is associated with gastronomic traditions such as charcuterie and pastries.

The former girls’ school in Saint-Vallier was built in stages from 1869 to 1893. Part of the former girls’ school complex is now used by the municipal music school and serves as a wedding hall.
