Culture and History

The Chapelle Sainte-Avoye was built in 1451 by Louis de Chantemerle, Lord of La Clayette. It is a rare example of Flamboyant Gothic architecture in the Brionnais region. Today, the no longer used Chapelle Sainte-Avoye serves as a cultural venue for exhibitions, performances and concerts.

Cinéma L’Odyssée is a club or community cinema run by a team of volunteers. La Clayette also has a long tradition of breeding horses for draft and racing, and is now the venue for prestigious equestrian events.

Water and Trails

Aire de loisirs & Mini-Golf is located on the shores of Lake La Clayette and features an 18-hole mini-golf course. Flore et Faune en Bord de Lac (CL2) is a signposted walking route in La Clayette that is part of the Balades Vertes programme. The circular route follows the shores of Lake La Clayette to the leisure centre and returns via the promenade to the Château de La Clayette.
