The Église Sainte-Thècle is dedicated to Saint Thècle. She is described as a disciple of Saint Paul and the first martyr of the Orient; her cult was widespread in the Middle Ages. By 1155 at the latest, there was a chapel dedicated to Saint Thècle on this site.
