Bresse-sur-Grosne: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The construction phases of the Château de Bresse-sur-Grosne span the 14th, 16th, 17th and 19th centuries. The estate includes a 12th-century chapel. The surviving part of the chapel was restored around 1860 in the Neo-Lombard style.

The chapel of the Château de Bresse-sur-Grosne served as a parish church; its parish extended at the foot of the château. The protected Château de Bresse-sur-Grosne also includes the façades and roofs of the outbuilding containing the orangery. The Château de Bresse-sur-Grosne was listed by decree of 21 March 1983.

Bresse-sur-Grosne is one of the municipalities located within the ZNIEFF area “Val de Grosne entre Cercy et Malay”. On the Grosne floodplains, this area encompasses structurally diverse meadow landscapes and is of regional interest because of the birdlife of the bocage landscape. The ZNIEFF area “Val de Grosne entre Cercy et Malay” is partially included in the Natura 2000 area “Bocage, forêt et milieux humides du bassin de la Grosne et du Clunisois”.

Events

Every summer, the “Grande Fête de la Chasse et de la Campagne” takes place at the Château de Bresse-sur-Grosne. A historical and musical performance with numerous actors and extras is also held there every summer. The “Boucle 8: Chapaize” cycle route also passes through Bresse-sur-Grosne.

The surroundings of Bresse-sur-Grosne include the Château de Cormatin, a castle; the Hôtel-Dieu-Musée Greuze, a museum; and Ferté-sur-Grosne, a Cistercian abbey and historic site.
