Nature
Fishing activities are possible at the Tourbière à Montambert. A path leads around the pond of the Tourbière à Montambert and also includes its peat extensions.
The ZNIEFF Bois de Briffault et Etang Donjon is of regional importance because of its forest habitats and ponds, as well as the plant species associated with these ecosystems. The municipality of Montambert is part of this ZNIEFF area. The oldest ponds in Montambert were created in the Middle Ages by Benedictine monks. They were built to retain and redistribute water and to drain the previously infertile, marshy land. Fishing in the ponds once provided an additional contribution to the diet.
