La Pierre Écrite, a grave stele, stands in Alligny-en-Morvan's public square. It dates from the Gallo-Roman or Celtic period and was listed as a protected monument on April 20, 1913.
At the heart of the village is the Musée des nourrices et des enfants de l’Assistance publique. It presents the history of wet nurses and children in public care in the Morvan, which affected several tens of thousands of children, women, and families from the late 18th century onward.
The Maison forte d'Alligny-en-Morvan is part of the local architectural history. It was built in the 12th century and remodelled in the 17th century.
