Culture and history
The present-day Church of Saint Symphorien dates from the 19th century and was historically the fourth place of worship in the village. It was completed in 1837 after earlier places of worship had been abandoned or demolished. The present church was built in a safer location because an earlier large parish church had to be demolished due to unstable ground and poorly designed piles.
At the Château de Lusigny, the Association L’Arrière-pays organizes publicly accessible meeting days, workshops, performances, work projects, and other activities every year.
On March 30, 1944, the maquis was surrounded following a denunciation; ten young resistance fighters were killed in the process. A monument was erected in their memory at the intersection of the Route de Beaune and the Route d’Echarnant.
