Culture and Townscape
The Saint-Louis church is located on the Grande Rue in Chanceaux. Its porch has four monolithic columns. Construction campaigns for the church are documented for the years 1682 and 1858.
At the Maison du 15e siècle, the façade and the roof facing the street are protected; the listing took place on 2 March 1926. The former customs pavilion is a small single-storey building with a basement, cornice and gable. Its façade has a rectangular door between two round openings; on the gable side, there is a cast-iron relief plaque.
On Chanceaux's main street, the houses feature, among other things, cornices, moulded window lintels, porches, as well as trefoil or basket-handle-arched windows. Chanceaux was formerly a relay station for stagecoaches.
Hiking and Landscape
Stage 5 of the GR®2 “Au fil de la Seine” in Côte-d’Or passes through Chanceaux. The GR®2 runs through the centre of Chanceaux and through the hamlet of Courceau. This stage is listed as covering 14.4 kilometres and taking 3 hours and 35 minutes.
The Seine runs through Chanceaux; the village is described as the second village crossed by the Seine.
