The Château de Chailly developed from a fortified house dating from the late 12th century into a fortress from the mid-15th century. From 1988 to 1990, the château was restored and converted into a luxury hotel with a restaurant and golf course. By decree of 18 June 1930, it was classified as a historic monument.
