Le Bonhomme: Holiday apartments and houses

The Pont du Bonhomme is located on the Blavet between Kervignac and Lanester. From the bridge, there are views of the Blavet, its banks and the river bends; walks along the river are possible at the site, combining an experience of the landscape with an appreciation of the cultural heritage.

Culture and history

The Pont du Bonhomme site is located in the hamlet of Le Bonhomme in Kervignac. The original bridge was built in 1903–1904 by Ferdinand Arnodin as a toll bridge. Its sculptures depicted a man and a woman in local dress, referred to as “le Bonhomme” and “la Bonne femme”.

After the original bridge reached its capacity limits due to increasing road traffic, a second Pont du Bonhomme was built and opened to the public in 1974.

The Fontaine-lavoir of Saint-Sterlin, built in 1800, is located nearby. The Saint-Sterlin washhouse is the only dated washhouse in the Ria d’Etel area.

Nature

The section of the GR® 34 beyond the Pont du Bonhomme follows the Blavet past picturesque hamlets, marshes and ponds. Along this section of the GR® 34, information panels help visitors identify migratory birds nesting in the landscape of marshes and ponds.

Exploration of the area around the Pont du Bonhomme can continue into the nearby natural areas of the Cimetière de bateaux de Kerhervy and the Marais de la Goden.

Paths and landscape

On the Kervignac side, the GR® 34 runs downstream from the Pont du Bonhomme to Locmiquélic, offering views of the riverbanks. Near Kerhervy, there are two hiking trails, including the Moulin du Plessis loop, which runs along the Blavet.

The “Boucle de Saint-Sterlin” loop allows a detour to a washhouse and other landscapes.
