Guitté: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Historic buildings and traces of the past in Guittè range from the medieval west portal of Saint-Servan Church to the Neolithic Pierre Longue menhir. There is also a footpath along the Rance Valley, the Noé Moy leisure area and the products of Domaine des Pommes d’Armor.

Culture and history

Saint-Servan Church was rebuilt after 1895; the medieval west portal and a reused bas-relief were preserved. The construction of Saint Mathurin Chapel was decided in 1743 after the 14th-century sanctuary dedicated to Saint Gourgon had fallen into disrepair. Above the door, the inscription “Saint Mathurin” and the year 1744 can be seen.

Château de Beaumont was partially rebuilt in the 19th century on a structure dating from the 15th century; its north façade overlooks the Rance. The first Château de Couellan was a fortress built on the banks of the Rance by the L’HERMINE family between 1380 and 1420. The estate is privately owned but can be visited for much of the year.

Manoir des Touches was the birthplace of René Auguste de Chateaubriand in 1718. The Pierre Longue menhir is a monolith from the Neolithic period.

Walking and recreation

The Noé Moy leisure area invites visitors to relax and play by its pond. Nearby is a 1:4-scale reconstruction of the Saint-Just mill. A footpath runs along the Rance Valley.

Apples and cider

Domaine des Pommes d’Armor produces cider, apple juice and apple vinegar. For its cider, it uses fermentation with native yeasts and natural carbonation.
