Around Sauvessanges, several trails combine scenic landscapes with historical and cultural features. The “Autour de l'eau” circular trail was marked by the municipal administration and leads through open countryside above the Ance Valley as well as through wooded sections. Another route is the Sauvessannelles trail, which leads to the Chapelle de la Vialle. The hike follows the banks of the Ance, crosses a ford on a wooden footbridge and offers views of the varied landscapes of Haute-Loire.

Culture
The façades of houses in Sauvessanges feature a local speciality known as “les poirières”. The stained-glass windows of Sauvessanges church also tell stories of religious themes: among other figures, they depict the Curé of Ars and Saint François-Régis, and were created by the glass artist Malhot from Clermont.
In the village of Vauribeyre, residents maintain seasonal exhibitions featuring figures or scarecrows representing local occupations and inhabitants. In winter, a nativity scene can be seen there.
Local History
The 11th-century Romanesque church of Sauvessanges was replaced in 1882 by a large modern building. The bell tower contains three bells, including a very large bell dating from 1500 that has been recast several times.
