Échandelys: Holiday apartments and houses

Culture

The château in Échandelys is partially protected as a historic monument; it was listed on 29 December 1978. The building has an approximately U-shaped floor plan. Its north wing contains medieval fabric that was remodelled at the end of the 18th century. The château is privately owned.

Routes

The Ambert Livradois Forez mountain biking area comprises 42 circular routes; Échandelys is listed as a starting point in the Livradois. Circular route no. 43 – Belvédères des Deux frères is 25 km long; its starting point is at Place de la Fontaine in Échandelys. Route 42 – La panoramique is 35 km long and also starts there. It leads across the high plateaus of the Livradois and through wooded landscapes.

Landscape

Les Panoramas is a 13 km circular route in Échandelys. The route passes an old Roman road and offers views of the Sancy volcanoes and the Livradois mountains. The Belvédère des Deux Frères is located along this route in the village of Échandelys. From there, panoramic views extend over the Chaîne des Puys, the Sancy, the Cézallier and the Cantal.
