Hiking
The GR® de Pays route „Aux marches du Cézallier – Boucle du Val d’Allier n°4“ passes through Collanges.
The circular route „Entre béal et pigeonniers“ is a moderately difficult hike covering 10.0 km, with a stated duration of 2 hours and 45 minutes. It follows the bank of a Couze and then climbs through the orchards on the slopes of Collanges. The trail passes through the old streets of Collanges and reveals traces of its medieval past. It also runs alongside the park of the Château de Collanges and points out a domed building within the château grounds.
The Saint-Gervazy–Vichel circular hike is 9.5 km long and has a stated duration of 3 hours. It crosses the plateau towards the summit area of Montcelet through an environment considered to be an astonishing savannah landscape. The route passes through Collanges to the town hall and then continues along a path reached approximately 200 m after leaving the village.
Culture
The Plateau de Montcelet is considered a former defensive and religious site. In the Church of Saint-Eutrope and Saint-Martial in Collanges, an altar cross dates from the 18th century. The altar cross is made of repoussé, chased and silver-plated brass. As a protected object, it is listed under protection order no. 2010-01 of 10 March 2010. Together with four candlesticks, it forms an altar set; the four candlesticks are registered under reference PM63002859.
The base fabric of an ecclesiastical textile with a vase motif is dated to the period from 1820 to 1850.
