History
The Musée de la Mine in Brassac-les-Mines features 160 metres of faithfully reconstructed mine galleries, complemented by scenes from everyday work underground. The museum also presents five centuries of coal-mining history beneath the Auvergne. A guided tour or a self-guided visit with an audio guide is possible.

Cycling and routes
The Via Allier cycling stage connects Brassac-les-Mines with Brioude. Over 20 kilometres, the Via Allier cycling route crosses the Limagne brivadoise and large areas of farmland, running at the foot of the Livradois.
A 14-minute TER service via Brioude, Brassac-les-Mines and Sainte-Florine is available for returning to the starting point. The “Dans les pas des mineurs” stage in Brassac-les-Mines starts at Rue du Port and leads via Charbonnier-les-Mines (D76) and La Combelle (D710) to the Musée de la Mine in Bayard. The 60-kilometre themed route “Dans les pas des mineurs” follows in the footsteps of the miners who shaped the history of this area.
