The “De la Faye à la Sep” hiking trail from Blot-l'Église is a 13 km, moderately difficult circular hike marked with yellow waymarkers. It can be walked year-round in suitable weather conditions and starts at the car park of the La Faye picnic area on the D50 in Blot-l'Église.
Along its route, the trail passes through the landscapes typical of this part of the Combrailles, featuring hills, hollows, valleys, hedgerows, woodland and ponds. It also offers views of the Chaîne des Puys, the Limagne and the Bois-Noirs.
The fourth stage of the Boucle du Pays de Menat also passes through the surrounding area: it leads from Blot-l'Église to the hamlet of Les Fougeroux, descends into the Gorges de la Sioule and later follows the Sioule to the village of Les Garachons.
Access to the Rocher Charlemagne is via the D122 and then along a path beside the Sioule to the rocks. Sectors A, B, C and D are often closed to climbing from 1 February to 20 June because of peregrine falcon nesting.

The bat roost at Blot-l'Église is located in a steeply sloping forest in the Gorges de la Sioule.
