The park is linked to the acquisition in 2004; the history of the castle dates back to the 16th century.

Historical landmarks and crafts

The individual historical landmarks include the Croix de l'Arbre. It is a 17th-century cross that was classified as a historic monument by decree of 23 September 1949. The Mausolée des La Tour-Maubourg was built in May 1875 for the de Fay Latour Maubourg family. The 1875 mausoleum and the 17th-century cross thus represent two different historical landmarks side by side. Local history also includes lace-making and passementerie, which were practised in Saint-Maurice-de-Lignon alongside agriculture. The historical references range from Maubourg Castle in the 16th century, through the 17th-century cross, to the 1875 mausoleum and the 1949 decree in Saint-Maurice-de-Lignon.
