The Pigeonnier-Chapelle du Bruel in Nieudan is protected as a historic monument. Anyone who has chosen Nieudan as a destination can plan to rent a holiday apartment there.
Culture
The Grange Maziol in Nieudan is also protected as a historic monument. It is a barn with a stable characteristic of the Xaintrie region and was built in 1802. The interior fittings intended for housing livestock and storing feed have been completely preserved.
The dovecote of Bruel is a well-preserved example of a type of building that is rare in the Châtaigneraie and the Aurillac basin. The Bruel complex also includes a small granite-built château dating from the 17th century, flanked by a square tower.
The parish church of Saint-Julien in Nieudan has a distinctive bell-cote.
Activities
Classic and electric pedal-rail rides operated by Pédalorail des Lacs depart from the former Nieudan railway station. Route 3, “L’Aventure – Pont du Rouffet”, covers a 20-kilometre round trip with two tunnels, a viaduct, a picnic area and a natural beach. Pédalorail des Lacs is particularly suitable for people with reduced mobility.
The Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Puy-Rachat offers an impressive view of the Monts du Cantal. The Chapelle Notre-Dame-du-Puy-Rachat is accessible on foot.
