The “De la Sioule aux bois de Veauce” trail is 17.3 km long, includes 510 metres of elevation gain, and is rated as moderate in difficulty. Starting from the village of Lalizolle, the descent towards the Gorges de la Sioule follows this trail and offers panoramic views of the Chaîne des Puys and the Sancy Massif. The trail also leads to the Chouvigny viewpoint, from which visitors can look out over the gorges, the Sioule and a medieval fortress.

The Étang de Duème near Lalizolle is open for fishing. Anglers can catch roach, gudgeon, perch, carp and tench there. Walkers can also use the Étang de Duème for a picnic or a break.

Culture

La Verrerie in Lalizolle was home to master glassmakers in the 16th and 17th centuries. The Church of Sancta Maria de Ecclesiola was under the authority of the Abbey of Ebreuil and the Diocese of Clermont.

The Château de Chalouze is a 19th-century replica of a feudal castle. It has a central square tower incorporated into the façade, as well as two slender, elongated corner turrets. The Château de Chalouze is not open to visitors.

The Sainte-Marie Church has a level entrance; the outdoor path has a surface suitable for wheelchair use.
