The Church of Saint-Cyr-et-Sainte-Juliette was built in 1893 by order of and with personal financing from Ernest Noailly, the municipality's mayor at the time, replacing an earlier Romanesque church. It is built in the Neo-Gothic style from Nivernais stone. Large windows decorated with stained glass characterize the building; it also has a strongly projecting transept with rose windows at both ends.
The Château de Theillat was built by the Noailly family at the end of the 19th century near the site of an earlier château. This had been destroyed by fire before the Revolution in the 18th century. The Château de Theillat is built from blond Nivernais stone and has a slate roof. It is surrounded by an extensive, tree-filled park with a pond, an orangery and spacious stables.
History
The Château de Saint-Alyre developed from a manor house built on the motte of the 15th-century Jarry Castle. After the estate was acquired in 1856, the château was enlarged by an adjoining new building with towers.
At Vieux Ponçu, traces remain from earlier periods when its walls served a defensive purpose. The caves on the northern side of the Rédan Valley also preserve evidence of various successive layers: flint, worked bones, pottery fragments and traces of hearths were found there.
The Lachenaud Cave was discovered in 1921 and has an approximately 15-metre-long, ring-shaped gallery in the limestone. Cave 1 of Le Richaud is located in the municipality of Sanssat beneath a ten-metre-high limestone massif, on a slope between the Theillat-Darpin plateau and the Rédan stream.
The Manoir des Granges is dated to the 15th century; essentially, the monumental staircase is all that remains of the original building.
