Culture
The Église Saint-Pierre preserves the tympanum-less porch and the apse of the original Romanesque church from the 12th century. Opposite the Château d’Avrilly on the RN7 stands the Monument du dirigeable. It commemorates the crash of the French airship “République” on 25 September 1909 within the municipality of Trévol.
The Château d’Avrilly estate comprises a 107-hectare landscaped park, a chapel, outbuildings, stables and a château dating from the 15th, 17th and 19th centuries. The main entrance to the Château d’Avrilly is on the west side of the RN7 and leads through a gateway between two brick pavilions. The Château d’Avrilly is open for visits daily in July and August except Saturdays. The grounds and park are also accessible in June and September; audio-guide tours of the park and guided tours of the interior are offered in July and August.
