History and culture

The south chapel of the Saint-Julien parish church was formerly a castle chapel dating from the late 11th or early 12th century. The present-day building of Saint-Julien Church was added at the end of the 14th century. In 1827, the church was damaged by a fire and restored in 1829.

The Centre Alexis Peyret in Serres-Castet has a 300-seat theatre. During the cultural season, the Théâtre Alexis Peyret hosts theatre, music and circus ensembles. The history of the village also includes the legend of Saint Julien’s hammer, which led to numerous pilgrimages in the 18th and 19th centuries.

Leisure and sport

The Stade Nautique Alain Sangosse has two outdoor swimming pools and is home to the swimming club of the Amicale laïque de Serres-Castet. Parc Liben has two play areas for children, boules and skittles courts, and a freely accessible multisports field.

The Plaine des sports du Luy has an orienteering course with around thirty markers. In total, Serres-Castet has more than 20 km of sports and hiking trails.

Serres-Castet is served by four bus routes in the IDELIS network. The village is also served by IDELIS demand-responsive transport.

At the Marché des Producteurs de Pays, visitors can taste local products and meet producers directly in a musical atmosphere.
