Courbiac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Site de Rodié covers around 50 hectares and is located in Courbiac. Its mosaic of limestone natural habitats extends from the valley floor up to the plateau. The source area of the Site de Rodié forms an upper course with a 1,100 m-long stream that flows directly into the Boudouyssou; the Boudouyssou is designated as a Natura 2000 site.

The Site de Rodié is a slope in the Boudouyssou valley near Courbiac, on the Domaine du Château de Rodié; its landscape includes dry pastureland, heathland and wooded areas. This landscape is home to a particularly interesting diversity of fauna and flora. The Château de Rodié stands on the western slope of a hill located slightly away from the Boudouyssou valley.

Trails

The circular trail “Courbiac, dans la vallée du Boudouyssou” starts in Courbiac and is 13.5 km long. It is marked with painted trail signs.

Culture

The Église Saint-Vincent has a Romanesque choir dating from the late 11th or early 12th century. It has a single-nave structure with a round-arched barrel vault, a choir covered by a semi-dome and low side chapels. The Romanesque portal or the triumphal arch features carved depictions of leaves, vines or coats of arms. The Église Saint-Vincent is protected as a historic monument.

The Château de Rodié is a 16th-century Quercy monument. A gallery was built around the courtyard of the Château de Rodié in 1711.

Village Life

At the Courbiac village festival, a rustic feast with musical entertainment is held on Saturdays. On Sundays, the village festival includes a convivial aperitif and a ball-trap competition.
