Saint-Vincent-De-Paul: Holiday Apartments and Houses

Culture

In the Berceau district lies Ranquines, the birthplace of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul. It was rebuilt in 1700 and prepared for visitors. The Chapelle du Berceau was built in the 19th century with a striking Byzantine-style dome.

The industrial past is explained at the Étang de la Glacière. The building there today is a former washhouse that was dismantled, relocated and completely rebuilt by volunteers from the village. There are also family tables for picnics and play areas for children.

The Buglose prisoner-of-war camp was established by the Germans in 1940. From 1940 to 1944, it housed colonial prisoners and, after the war, German prisoners. Visits are possible only by prior arrangement as part of a guided tour lasting approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.

The Notre Dame de Buglose sanctuary was built between 1850 and 1865. The building houses a Maisonnave carillon with at least 60 bells and 34 different tones.
