Castets: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The “Dame aux coquelicots” war memorial in Castets was created by Edouard Cazaux and protected as a historic monument by decree of 21 October 2014. The Church of Saint Bartholomew is one of Castets’ cultural heritage features. A 15th-century bell is also one of the town’s cultural heritage features.

“Castets Raconte” is an approximately 3 km-long cultural and entertaining walk that combines local heritage, history and legends. Among other things, the route traces the history of the 19th-century forges.

“Les Temps des Forges” also features a scenographic space for reception, exhibitions and the interpretation of cultural heritage. “Les Aventures de Sylvain le Farfadet” offers another playful way to discover the area: this approximately 3 km-long treasure hunt, comprising 20 stations, features works by local artists and playful challenges for the whole family. Along the route, artworks, sensory play elements and interactive installations accompany the walk.

Nature and Trails

“Le Séquoïa” in the park of the Maison Jeandanse was sown or planted around 1870, making it one of the oldest of its kind in France. Its height is estimated at 39 metres. In 2006, the tree received the “Arbre Remarquable de France” designation.

“Lo Camin de Hè” is a greenway in the Landes created along a former railway line. The route connects the municipality of Taller with Vielle-Saint-Girons. From there, it offers options to reach Lac de Léon, La Lette Blanche Beach or Saint-Girons Beach via the Vélodyssée.
