Church and History
The Église Sainte-Marie de Cissac-Médoc encompasses several historical layers. Its choir dates from the 12th century. Originally, the church was a single-nave Romanesque building with a choir area ending in an apse. Today, it has a 19th-century neo-Gothic spire and has been partially protected as a historic monument since 1925. Outside of services, the Église Sainte-Marie de Cissac-Médoc is closed.
Château Cissac is a chartreuse built in the 18th century on the remains of a Roman villa. Since 1580, the history of Château Larrivaux has included its being passed down through the women of the same family.
