The church of Salles-de-Belvès was mentioned in the 12th century under the patronage of Santa Maria de Salis and was originally dedicated to the Virgin Mary. After its affiliation with the monastery of Sarlat, the church adopted Saint Sacerdos as its patron saint.

A special detail can be found in the sacristy of Saint Sacerdos Church: it houses a Comtoise clock from the 19th century, which was placed under protection as movable cultural heritage on 5 February 1980.
