Around 100 % of the area of the municipality of Montagnac-d'Auberoche lies within the transition zone of the Bassin de la Dordogne Biosphere Reserve. The landscapes consist of 99.1 % Périgord Central and less than 1 % the Causses and the red sandstone region.

The Church of Saint-Marc in Montagnac-d'Auberoche is listed as a historic monument. It is Romanesque; its oldest parts date from the 12th century, and it was rebuilt several times in the 14th and 15th centuries. During the complete restoration, 14th-century frescoes and coats of arms were uncovered.
A war memorial near La Miranderie is dedicated to 86 teachers who died in the First World War of 1914–1918. The Château de Bouilhens, the cradle of the distinguished d'Auberoche family, has disappeared.
