Pulversheim: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture

The Cité des mines is characterised by semi-detached houses with converted upper floors beneath mansard roofs and Dutch-style roofs. The Cité Sainte-Thérèse in Pulversheim was laid out based on the model of English garden cities.

The Rodolphe 1 headframe at Carreau Rodolphe contains reconstructions of a lamp room and a changing room for the miners, known as the „salle des pendus“. The potash mine at the Rodolphe 1 and 2 shafts in Pulversheim is now used as the Ecomusée Maisons Paysannes d’Alsace and as a commercial warehouse.

Carreau Rodolphe preserves two headframes, two restored and operational hoisting engines dating from 1912 and 1928, surface installations for ore processing, as well as a complete collection of mining machinery dating from 1950 to 2004 that is unique in France.

From Mulhouse railway station, Carreau Rodolphe can be reached by tram line 1 and then bus 54 towards Alsace–Carreau Rodolphe. Carreau Rodolphe will be closed for a period of one year from 15 June 2026.

Routes

The Route de la Potasse is located north of Mulhouse and is an 18 km circular route through four municipalities, with four notable mining sites and five other attractions. A vehicle is required for the route. It can be completed independently using the Cirkwi smartphone app.

The Circuit de l’Ecomusée in Ungersheim and Pulversheim is 8 km long.
