The château in Hartmannswiller is partially protected as a historic monument. The complex was built in 1562 by the nobles of the Waldner family as a moated castle.
The fortified cemetery of Hartmannswiller is classified as a historic monument and is one of the few remaining fortified church cemeteries in Alsace. It was intended to protect the population from attacks by mercenaries. Around 1860, a Roman villa was excavated at the Schimmelrain locality in the municipality of Hartmannswiller.
The Hartmannswiller Society for Local History established an informative tourist trail and founded a lapidarium museum.

Today, the nearby Hartmannswillerkopf is a place of history, remembrance and nature; in the past, it was a battlefield. Hartmannswiller's municipal hiking options include the route „Les tranchées sud du Hartmannswillerkopf“.
The footpath to Hartmannswillerkopf can be accessed from Hartmannswiller. Parking is available near the Stand de Tir on the Route de la forêt.
Events and Refreshments
The Hartmannswiller soapbox race has been held annually since 1977. The 2020 edition was an exception due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
For several years, a wine and gourmet market has been held every November in Hartmannswiller, organised by RR Big Band. Winegrowers from various regions of France, an artisanal brewer and gourmet artisans come together there to present their products.
La Cantine Zeller welcomes walkers on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. Cold and hot drinks are available; in winter, La Cantine Zeller also serves soups.
