Fellering: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Fellering is located in the Ballons des Vosges Regional Nature Park and has an extensive network of hiking trails marked by the Club Vosgien. Anyone choosing Fellering as a destination may wish to rent a holiday apartment.
Nature and Trails
The 6-kilometre circular hiking trail “Tour du village” runs through Fellering. Another route is the 8-kilometre “Circuit des Sites” hiking trail. The Siebach Trail is also part of the local trail network: it was created and is maintained by the Club vosgien; the Saint-Amarin Tourist Office has included it in its network of eco-hikes.
The natural assets of the Massif du Grand Ventron nature reserve include the remaining old beech forests on the upper slopes of the municipalities of Fellering, Kruth and Wildenstein. Around 400 hectares of old beech forests in the massif were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2021.
The Treh launch site is also located within the municipality of Fellering, at an altitude of 1,206 metres. It faces from northwest to southwest and is used for paragliding and hang-gliding.
Culture and Townscape
The present-day Saint-Antoine-abbé parish church in Fellering is a Neo-Gothic building whose construction began in 1874 and was completed in 1880. The Protestant temple of Fellering was built in 1913 and still serves as the parish church for the entire valley.
Leisure and Getting There
Fellering swimming pool has two leisure pools, a paddling pool, a diving pool and two 70-metre slides. The swimming pool has two outdoor pools measuring 50 × 15 m and 12 × 10 m, as well as two indoor pools measuring 25 × 10 m and 12 × 10 m.
Fellering railway station has a TER ticket machine, a connection to the regional Fluo bus network and free parking.
Other Highlights
The Markstein Grand-Ballon Nordic area offers 40 km of marked and daily groomed cross-country ski trails along the ridge between Grand Ballon and Breitfirst, at altitudes ranging from 1,150 to 1,343 m.
Ferme du Felsach is considered a place for a culinary experience featuring cuisine in the heart of the Hautes-Vosges.
