The pedestrian zone in Colmar’s old town is home to outstanding Gothic buildings such as the Collegiate Church of Saint Martin and the Dominican Church. The Dominican Church in Colmar houses Martin Schongauer’s work “Madonna in the Rose Bower”. The Koïfhus was built in 1480 and served as a transshipment and storage location for imported goods. The Maison des Têtes in Colmar is decorated with 106 mostly restored grotesque heads on the window surrounds, tracery and the panels of the central oriel.

The Musée Unterlinden first opened to the public on 3 April 1853 in the renovated church of the former monastery. The Musée Bartholdi is located in the birthplace of Auguste Bartholdi and displays, among other things, designs, sculptures, drawings, paintings, engravings and works of art in more than 12 rooms and across three floors. The Musée du Jouet in Colmar’s city centre displays a toy collection dating from the 19th century to the present day; a model railway network extends across the entire second floor. Colmar’s railway station building was constructed in 1903 and features a keep, carved symbols, a central entrance hall for travellers and stained-glass windows.

The free Cœur de Ville shuttle connects the railway station with Colmar city centre every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday to Saturday. A 25-minute narrated ride in a flat-bottomed boat passes through the Petite Venise district and to the Quai de la Poissonnerie in Colmar. The Petit Train touristique Blanc offers an approximately 7-kilometre, 35-minute round trip through Colmar with audio commentary in 16 languages.
