The Church of Saint-Etienne was almost completely destroyed by bombing during the First World War and rebuilt from 1926 to 1927 using surviving parts of the previous building. Its central stained-glass window depicts the Assumption of Mary.

History
The “Chapelle et monument aux morts” was built in 1924 after the First World War. It replaced a chapel built in 1836 that had been destroyed by the bombing in 1914. The structure commemorates the victims of the wars of 1914 to 1918 and 1939 to 1945 and served as a processional rest station until the 1970s.
Culture
The Fête de la Moisson in Ammertzwiller is a traditional harvest festival. It includes a blessing of the harvest and traditional Gleckhampfala ears of grain made by volunteers. Homemade pastries, Linzer tarts, “bredalas” and farmhouse bread baked in a wood-fired oven in the village are offered. The festival has been organized by numerous volunteers for more than 40 years.
The ESELFASCHT is a traditional annual festival organized by the Ammertzwiller fire brigade association. At the 2024 ESELFASCHT, there was an afternoon of dancing accompanied by Steph'Band and a programme for children.
Geographical setting
Near Ammertzwiller are the Cité du Train museum, the Belvédère lookout tower, the Cité de l'Automobile museum and the ruins of Château d'Engelbourg. The Écomusée d'Alsace museum is located in the wider regional area.

The Kurrenburg, Saegenkopf and Krastkopf mountains are located near Ammertzwiller.
The Ammertzwiller Remembrance Circuit follows a memorial trail dedicated to the 1914–1918 war. Along the way, you can see numerous bunkers, traces of mine warfare and the 9-metre-deep “entonnoir” pond, which was created by an underground explosion triggered by the German army beneath the French positions. The same route leads to Ammertzwiller, which is characterized by fields of miscanthus.
