The Le plateau family trail passes through forests and reaches the first open landscapes of the Lorraine plateau in Petersbach and Lohr.

Culture and Rural Heritage

Petersbach’s rural architectural heritage includes engraved or carved door lintels. The village is also home to the Eglise Saint Pierre et Paul, the oldest building in Petersbach, documented since the 15th century. Inside is a polychrome and gilded wooden statue of the Virgin Mary with the Christ Child dating from the early 16th century.

In the open countryside towards La Petite-Pierre stands a replica of a Napoleonic sandstone resting bench; the original was erected in 1812. Château de Lützelstein, a castle, is located in the immediate vicinity of Petersbach. The surrounding area also includes Musée Lalique, a museum, and Herrenstein, a ruin. Château des Rohan, a palace, lies in the wider region.

Trails and Events

The Sentier poétique René Char may be extended to Petersbach. On 23 August 2026, an open day with a tour of the orchard will take place at Petersbach’s school orchard.
