Mittelhausbergen lies at the foot of the Hausbergen hills and at the gateway to the Kochersberg. The Chemin de la Klamm connects the village with the Piste des Forts. For some travellers, renting a holiday apartment is part of planning a stay in Mittelhausbergen.
Culture
The present-day Saint-Jacques Church was rebuilt in 1723 after the older building had become severely dilapidated. Its onion dome was added in 1774. The church is surrounded by an old cemetery established in 1717. The church interior contains the grave of Eléonore Sidonie, Baroness of Rathsamhausen d’Ehnwihr.
In the surroundings of Mittelhausbergen are the Palais Rohan, a palace, and Fort Rapp, a fortress. The monuments Europe à Coeur and Armatagir – Script are also located there. Fort Kléber, a park, lies in the immediate vicinity of Mittelhausbergen. Parc de l’Orangerie is another park in the surroundings of Mittelhausbergen.
Landscape and Nature
The Coteaux de Hausbergen form the highest point of the Eurométropole and are characterised by a species-rich flora and fauna. The Coteaux de Hausbergen include allotment gardens, paths through hollow ways and wooded areas used for walking. The Steinhonbel and Mollberg mountains are also located in the wider regional area around Mittelhausbergen.
Events
Mittelhausbergen’s Christmas market takes place around Saint-Jacques Church. It features arts and crafts, entertainment for children and refreshments. The Fête du Livre des Auteurs is scheduled to take place at the Espace Sportif et Culturel in Mittelhausbergen and was announced there for the 15th time. Around 50 authors took part in the Fête du Livre des Auteurs, including approximately ten new authors.
The Mittel’art art exhibition is also scheduled to take place at the Espace Sportif et Culturel in Mittelhausbergen and was announced there for its 13th edition. For the 13th edition of the Mittel’art exhibition, 25 artists from the fields of painting, sculpture and glass were expected to participate.
