Griesheim-près-Molsheim dates back to origins in the 9th century. In 1570, following their conversion to Lutheranism, the Landsberg family introduced Protestantism to the village.
History
The preserved part of the first church now serves as a churchyard chapel. Its choir is the former sacristy, built in 1685; the chapel’s vault has been preserved in its original condition.
The former Saint-Alexis parish church also now serves as a chapel. Construction phases of the Saint-Alexis parish church are documented for the years 1624, 1685, 1724, 1742, and 1836. An organ was built in 1884 by Martin Rinckenbach in Ammerschwihr (Haut-Rhin).
Nature
The Sentier Botanique de Griesheim runs along the valley of the Rosenmeer. Visitors can discover almost 200 species of trees and plants on the botanical nature trail. The Sentier Botanique de Griesheim is a family-friendly walking route without any particular difficulties and is partly accessible with a pushchair.

The continuous cycle path runs through Rosheim, Griesheim-près-Molsheim, Innenheim, Blaesheim, Geispolsheim, Ostwald, and Strasbourg. The cycle path between Griesheim-près-Molsheim and Innenheim connects the Piémont sector with Strasbourg.
Cuisine and Village Life
Auberge de la Chèvrerie serves modern regional cuisine prepared on site using fresh seasonal products. La Chèvrerie is a cheese dairy that sells fresh, matured, coated, and smoked goat’s cheese produced on site.
The firefighters’ association holds a flea market in Griesheim-près-Molsheim every year on 1 May.
