Dettwiller is also home to the Maison du Patrimoine et de la Chaussure, a cultural and heritage site. The Maison du Patrimoine became a museum after receiving numerous donations of machines and other objects. Dettwiller's weekly market takes place on Sunday mornings from 09:00 to 12:00 in the schoolyard, Cour de l’école, at 37 Rue du Château. It offers handicrafts, cheese, grilled dishes, fruit and vegetables, as well as Asian and Iberian specialities.

Nature

The municipal forest lies within the Northern Vosges Regional Nature Park. It consists of approximately 50 percent deciduous forest, mainly beech and oak, and approximately 50 percent coniferous forest, including Douglas fir, spruce and fir. The municipal forest is located within the territory of Eckartswiller, covers 300 hectares and extends as far as the Moselle département border near Phalsbourg.

Former river meanders are visible in the Ried de la Zorn near Dettwiller, including during the dry season in aerial photographs. The Rocher de la Bande Noire is a remarkable site.

Trails

The cycle path from Dettwiller leads in one direction to Saverne and in the other to Hochfelden or Brumath. A hiking trail marked by the Club Vosgien begins at Rue de la Haute-Montée in Dettwiller and runs through the Ried to Steinbourg.
