Holiday apartment in Bojkovice – Nový Světlov Castle and educational trails

Nový Světlov Castle dates back to the 15th century, was rebuilt several times later and was last altered in the Tudor Gothic style. At the Muzeum Bojkovska, a castle exhibition displays part of the original furnishings of Nový Světlov Castle, supplemented by objects from Návojná Castle.

Culture and history

The historic house at Potok No. 302 in Bojkovice is a particularly valuable example of traditional folk architecture. It is a clay-built dwelling house without an agricultural section, constructed from unfired bricks on a rubble-stone foundation; traditional local materials and traditional craft methods were used. The educational trail between the centre of Bojkovice and Nový Světlov Castle connects the town with the castle. It has five stations and is suitable for hiking. The educational trail is 656 m long and has an elevation difference of approximately 50 m. In the Bojkovsko area, the trail includes a large 24 km circular route and a small 16 km circular route, as well as a total of ten information boards.

The Na Skalce lookout tower near Bojkovice was built on the initiative of the KBS-SOS civic association with the support of the investor MěÚ Bojkovice in August and September 2011. The tower, built of larch and spruce wood, stands on Mr Juračka’s land approximately 1 km northeast of the Krhov district in the Skalka area.
