Landscape and Nature
Hliniště, a wetland of scientific importance, lies on the northeastern edge of the municipality of Pavlov near Stonařov. It consists of dozens of small ponds formed by earlier clay extraction for so-called Vepřovice, or unfired bricks. Part of Hliniště is accessible via unpaved paths that are maintained only as part of the usual summer mowing. Entry is permitted at one's own risk and is otherwise unrestricted.
Culture and History
The Church of St. Vitus in Pavlov has been documented since 1365 and was probably originally Gothic. Its present form was created through a Baroque reconstruction between 1772 and 1775. Its furnishings include a death bell from 1799.
Cycling and Hiking Trails
A cycling route runs through Pavlov. Another destination in the surrounding area is the source of the Moravská Dyje, which rises in the Brtnická vrchovina landscape area in the Jihlava region, not far from the municipality of Stajiště. The source can be reached via a green-marked hiking trail. Cyclists turn off cycling route 5091 and reach it after 200 metres.
A green-marked hiking trail also runs along the Pouště tourist signpost. One path from the signpost leads to the source of the Moravská Dyje. In the other direction, the trail passes the ponds of Na Pouštích and continues into the Velký Špičák area.
