Blankartice: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Blankartice lies on the northern edge of the České středohoří Protected Landscape Area and is a valuable ensemble of rural architecture with an exceptionally well-preserved urban structure.

Landscape

The village is located in the Terezínské údolí, a valley that slopes from south to north, and extends on both sides of the Dolský potok stream. In Blankartice, the stream forms ponds at two locations by means of dams; these are used as fire-water reservoirs.

Culture and Village Character

Traditional log and half-timbered houses have been preserved in Blankartice, particularly Upper Lusatian house types. The house at No. 47 is a two-storey log house with a wooden veranda. The agricultural farmstead at No. 47 includes a former retirement section, now bearing house number 104, as well as preserved adjoining stable buildings.

In Blankartice, the production of birch brooms, especially in winter, was one of the minor crafts.

Leisure and Everyday Life

Outdoor table tennis can be played at Blankartický rynek. There is also a fire pit and seating for passers-by who happen to be passing through.
