Duchcov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Duchcov Chateau, originally known by the German name Dux, has been a national cultural monument since 2001. It has a special connection with the Valdštejn family and Giacomo Casanova, who wrote his memoirs there. Duchcov Chateau offers four guided tours; the “Casanova na zámku” tour includes the billiards room, the servants’ quarters, Giacomo Casanova’s apartment and the library.

Culture and History

The “Ve stopách G. Casanovy” educational trail runs through Duchcov. It provides information about Baroque sculpture, the works of modern-era sculptors Heinrich Scholze and Herrmann Zettlitzer, the legends of Barbora Pond, and forgotten corners of the old streets of Duchcov.

The Duchcov City Museum presents the rich history of Duchcov and its immediate surroundings and displays archaeological finds from prehistoric times.

Duchcov railway stop is located on the Ústí nad Labem–Chomutov railway line.

Geographical Location

Osek Monastery is located in the immediate vicinity of Duchcov. The surroundings of Duchcov also include Mount Stropnik, Sukoslav Ruins, Mount Bořeň [Bílina-Újezd], Vlčí hora and Hrad Kysperk Ruins.
