Jedovnice: Holiday Apartments and Houses
SINGLETRAIL Moravský kras is based directly on the Olšovec pond in Jedovnice. The pond covers 42 hectares; its dam is 8 m high and 640 m long along the crest. At Olšovec beach, visitors can rent boats and pedal boats, and there are also slides. From the viewing bastion, visitors can watch the draining of Olšovec and the work of the fishermen.
Culture and History
The present-day Church of St Peter and Paul in Jedovnice was built between 1783 and 1785, although the foundations of the tower date back to 1681. The church contains an altar by Mikuláš Medek and Jan Koblasa. Outside of services, the church can be visited by arrangement with the parish administrator.
Hiking Trails and Landscape
The Rudické propadání and Kolíbky route can be started directly from Jedovnice via the green hiking trail. It passes the remains of the former Salmová ironworks from the 18th century, where iron ore was processed. In Jedovnice, walks in the surrounding countryside around the Budkovan and Dubový ponds are recommended.
The mountains of Stádla, Bučí, Jedla and Babí Lom are located around Jedovnice. In the vicinity of Jedovnice, the Jedovnický stream forms the Rudické propadání–Býčí skála cave system, which is described as the second-largest cave system in the Moravian Karst.
