Pernek: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Pernek combines a medieval character with a mountainous location on the edge of the Šumava and proximity to the Lipno I Reservoir. History, landscape and regional destinations are all closely connected geographically here.

History

Pernek was first mentioned in writing in 1445 and is a regularly laid-out medieval linear village. A fire in June 1931 had a significant impact on Pernek’s urban structure.

The ruins of Hausberk Castle lie 1.5 km northwest of Pernek. Hausberk, a guard castle, was first mentioned in 1310; surviving features include sections of wall and the foundations of a tower.

Landscape

Pernek is located about 1 km from the left bank of the Lipno I Reservoir. At the same time, the village is situated in a mountainous environment on the edge of the Šumava.

A special natural feature is the Jeffrey pine “Borovice Jeffreyova – Pernek”. It is a solitary veteran specimen with a regular crown.

Surroundings

Chlumany is an ancient site in the vicinity of Pernek. Špićák, a mountain, is located nearby. Smrčina [Horní Planá], Hochficht and Plechý are mountains in the vicinity of Pernek.

The wider regional surroundings also include the Schiffler Chapel, a church, and the Haslach Parish Church, also a church.

Transport and Cycling Route

The “Kolem Vltavy na přítoku Lipenské přehrady” cycling tour leads to Pernek via cycle route no. 33 – Šumavská magistrála. No České dráhy services are offered at Pernek-Hory railway station.
