Vejvanov: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

An elongated village green with a pond forms the centre of Vejvanov’s original village settlement. The first written record of the village dates back to 1379.

History

The history of mining is also part of Vejvanov’s historical character: Pajzov was originally a mining settlement. Hard coal was mined beneath Vejvanov and in its surrounding area for centuries.

Culture

Eight log farmsteads have been preserved in Vejvanov. Some of the log farmhouses are immovable cultural monuments. A particularly noteworthy historic farmstead is rural farmstead No. 14: it is a protected cultural monument and has been under heritage protection since 3 May 1958. It includes a log-built residential house with a three-axis façade; the rear courtyard is closed off by a log-built barn.

Nature

Part of the Vejvanov municipal area extends into Radeč Nature Park. The “Za permoníky Chomle a Vejvanova” educational trail leads from Chomle to Vejvanov, is 4.5 kilometres long and has nine stations.

Babská skála and Hadí vrch form a distinctive, continuously forested watershed ridge. Babská skála lies at an elevation of 564 m, and Hadí vrch at 545 m.

Surroundings

The Church of Svatý Martin is located in the immediate vicinity of Vejvanov. The hill of Rovnička [Radnice u Rokycan] and the hill of Hrádek [Radnice u Rokycan] are also in the immediate vicinity. The Church of U Svatého Petra is located in the surroundings of Vejvanov.

Further afield in the region are the ruins of Týřov, Holý vrch mountain, Hřeben mountain and the ruins of Zřícenina Valdek.

Events

The “Staročeské máje” event, featuring the erection of the maypole, was announced for 1 and 2 May 2026 at Vejvanovská náves in Vejvanov.
