The Vlčí jámy nature trail is an easy 3.5 km circular route starting from the village square in Petrovice, passing through Vojetice and returning to Petrovice. Along the trail are various wooden sculptures created during the traditional annual chainsaw carving event in Petrovice. The Vlčí jámy themselves are wolf traps dating from the 18th and 19th centuries, approximately four metres deep and built by dry-stacking Waldstein stone.

Culture

The Kostel sv. Petra a Pavla church dates from the 13th century and has a Romanesque tower with a battlement crown as well as a curtain wall.

The “Po stopách středověkého dolování zlata” nature trail is a marked 17 km circular route starting and ending in Petrovice u Sušice. It has five information boards and covers the history of gold mining in the Petrovice area.

The “Rýžování zlata a putování po Petrovicku a Regenu” nature trail is an easy 7 km circular route starting from the village square in Petrovice and passing through Chamutice, Kojšice and Jiřičná before returning to Petrovice. It provides information about gold panning, which was typical of this area.

Leisure

Koupák Petrovice has a large pool and a children’s paddling pool. It offers refreshments, a covered garden area, a football pitch, a fire pit and swings. Koupák Petrovice includes a natural swimming area with a grassy shore and a concrete bottom. Entry to the grounds, movement around the grounds and swimming are at your own risk.

Today, only the central mound, ramparts and ditches of Hrad pod Hrnčířem Castle remain. The castle was a transitional type and was built without mortar; Hrad pod Hrnčířem is freely accessible.
