Horní Staňkov is home to a château, a chapel and marked trails; further landscape attractions can be found in the surrounding area.

Culture and History

Horní Staňkov Château was built in the mid-18th century. The simple, one-storey rectangular building has a hipped roof, a polygonal turret and adjoining farm buildings.

The Chapel of Saint Hildegard was built at the end of the 19th century following the premature death of Hilda, the 18-year-old daughter of JUDr. Gustav Schreiner, and was dedicated to Saint Hildegard. Lesy České republiky rebuilt the chapel using historical photographs. An information board and outdoor seating were installed next to the chapel.

Cycling and Hiking Trails

The 12-kilometre cycling route 2031 connects Velhartice, Horní Staňkov, Cihelna, Svojšice, Odolenov and Sušice.

A red-marked hiking trail runs through Horní Staňkov. It leads uphill to the Chapel of Saint Hildegard and through Horní Staňkov and Svatobor to Sušice.
