Culture and history

History can be experienced at several specific sites in Draženov. The stone granary, part of the Statek U Podestátů farmstead, dates from the late 16th century and now houses the Draženovský špýchar Museum. The exhibition presents a Chodská sence, Ždánovská and Chodská ceramics, historical documents, and examples of local handicrafts.

Draženov is one of the eleven Chod villages whose historical task was to guard the border against the incursion of enemy troops. Draženov is also home to a Chapel of the Holy Trinity dating from 1720.

Buildings and memorials

Other historic buildings include a barn in the courtyard of house no. 5 in Draženov, which is an immovable cultural monument. The war memorial in Draženov is a stone monument from 1922 featuring folk-costumed figures of a woman and a boy.

On the road to Luženice stands a small Baroque niche chapel with a square floor plan and a sheet-metal-covered tent roof. Draženov is also home to a rare and significant Chod granary building in which residential and agricultural functions are combined under one roof. The granary stands at the front, facing the village square.

Landscape and routes

The mountains of Škarmanka, Spálený vrch, Čerchov and Dreiwappen are located in the area surrounding Draženov. Nearby Dobrá Voda can be reached by bicycle or on foot: from Domažlice via Draženov, or from Klenčí through the Draženovská hora forest.

Draženov is served by public scheduled bus services.
