Čilá: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Čilá is located directly in the Křivoklátsko Protected Landscape Area, in hilly terrain above the right bank of the Berounka at an elevation of 332 m above sea level. Downstream from the village to Roztoky u Křivoklátu, the river has steeply incised banks with rocky sections.

Nature

Apart from agriculturally used fields and grazed meadows, the area surrounding Čilá is heavily forested. Mature mixed forests with beech, oak, spruce, larch and pine trees predominate. Thus, around the village, forested areas, open agricultural land and the river landscape of the Berounka come together.

Trails

A cycle path runs through Čilá. A red-marked hiking trail also passes through the village, leading in one direction to Rakovník and in the other to Roztoky u Křivoklátu. Čilá offers opportunities for hiking.

The northern branch of the Way of St. James runs through the valley below Čilá near Slapnice. The Čilá–Skryjská jezírka–(Ostrovec)–Zbiroh route leads to the Skryjská jezírka, where hikers can learn more from educational information boards.

Culture

The historic residential and farm buildings in Čilá were built of wood and thatched. In the centre stands a wooden cross at the site where a bell tower once stood. A memorial to the victims of the First World War is also located in the centre.

In nearby Skryje stands the striking Baroque Church of the Archangel Michael, dating from 1713.

Geographical location

Skryje is 2.5 km from Čilá and can be reached via a paved road through the valley of the Zbirožský potok (Slapnice) or via a marked hiking trail through the Skryjská jezírka.

In the Czech Republic, the northern branch of the Way of St. James runs from Zbraslav near Prague to Železná. There, at Park smíření, it crosses the Czech-German border and connects to the route to Nuremberg.
