Uhersko: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

A special feature of Uhersko is the continued tradition of “Vodění Jidáše”. On Holy Saturday, participants dress up as Judas, go from house to house, sing an Easter song and receive sweets, eggs or money in return. The tradition is also included in the list of intangible heritage of the traditional and folk culture of the Czech Republic.

Nature and landscape

The Bažantnice nature reserve is located in the fields between Uhersko and Trusnov, in the cadastral area of Uhersko. It comprises a mixed oak-hornbeam forest and a hardwood floodplain forest. Their natural composition provides suitable conditions for rare plant species and nesting opportunities for birds. Bažantnice in Uhersko is also a habitat of the red flat beetle (Cucujus cinnaberinus).

In the immediate vicinity of Uhersko are Borek Hill [Trusnov-Opočno nad Loučnou], Jandák Hill [Moravany-Čeradice nad Loučnou] and Na Kopci Hill [Dolní Roveň]. Strýc Mountain is located in the wider regional surroundings of Uhersko.

At the former site of the “Neulust” pleasure palace, there is a recreation area with a view of Uhersko, as well as a fire pit and seating.

Culture and history

The presbytery of the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Uhersko bears the year 1704. The church tower can be accessed from the outside via a self-supporting wooden spiral staircase on the south side.

The sgraffiti on the Uhersko municipal office depict scenes from the lives of Jan Hus, Jan Žižka and Jan Amos Komenský. The Church of Saint George is located in the wider regional surroundings of Uhersko.
